SAS: Zombie Assault 3 SAS

The S.A.S., short for Special Air Service, is an elite organization of British soldiers, first created during World War II. Originally called the "L Detachment", the SAS objective was to infiltrate enemy bases and sabotage essential equipment. Later, the SAS would participate in "Operation Nimrod" to rescue hostages from a terrorist attack. The end result of the mission made the SAS 22nd Regiment become recognized by many countries. The structure and training of the SAS has been used by other country groups like GIGN and the US Delta Force.

Throughout the SAS: Zombie Assault games, the player plays as an S.A.S. Soldier, and their task is to eradicate the Zombies. Although there are apparently numerous S.A.S. soldiers, the player always fights alone, at least until SAS: Zombie Assault 3, but this can be explained in real life as technical limitations of the game/choices of Ninja Kiwi. Multiplayer is included in SAS: Zombie Assault 3 and SAS: Zombie Assault 4, and in the mobile version of SAS 3, the player can enable an A.I. Buddy to fight with them during singleplayer and multiplayer.

In SAS 4, there are different classes of SAS to choose from (Assault, Medic, and Heavy). Each class, beside their shared skills (listed as SAS Skills), has their own unique skills that grant them different advantages. As shown in Vaccine's intro, they are under at least partial control from Defense Secretary Griffin. AI SAS players are summoned as part of the Assault Classes Assault Team Skill, which come with various weapons and will assist the player in holding off the zombies.

In SAS4, SAS soldiers have unique aesthetical features for their upside-down default sprites based of their respective classes (Assault has somewhat revamped appearance of default SAS soldiers in SAS3. Medic has a glowing arm band on his left bicep. Heavy has his left arm being equipped with some sort of exoskeleton or prosthesis). Their appearance also changes according to their equipped armor pieces while still retains aforementioned details to differentiate their class (For Assault's case, however, he simply doesn't have any feature that Medic or Heavy have due to equipped armor overlapping the standard tactical vest).
