"One of the most powerful commercially available hand guns. What it lacks in its relatively small clip size it makes up for in sheer stopping power."
―Official Description

The Ronson 45 is a pistol developed by Ronson. Compared to other pistols, the 45 is a huge upgrade from pistols like the Sabre and RIA 313 due to the heavily increased damage and pierce. An adequately fast clicker(Not applicable to mobile) will make this gun more powerful than the CM 205 and the CM 225, full-auto pistols, as well.

However, the Ronson 45 is quite rare to find, obtainable at much later levels than most other pistols. Its movement speed reduction, while not so significant (-3%, being the 3rd highest in its class), makes rushing in missions like Vaccine just a tiny bit longer. Instead of spending for Skeletonized augment, you can compensate the movement penalty by equipping speed-boosting armor parts (like Shotlite armor parts & Titan MEM Sprint) and/or Fast Movement skill (if you play as Heavy, Heavy Gear is useful as well) if you want to avoid speed reduction as much as possible when using Ronson 45.

Ronson 45 has relatively small magazine size (16) as compared to other non-PREM physical-damage pistols ([RED] Version & [BLACK] Version has their capacity increased to 22), making the 45 not so reliable for constantly killing incoming zombies. This can be improved by Capacity and/or Race Modded augments.

Ronson 45's strong point is its damage dealing. Its damage-per-shot is the highest of all non-PREM pistols. Ronson 45 also has the highest penetration for a pistol, which makes each of its shots go through up to 4 targets. Both of them makes Ronson 45 somewhat useful to deal with a swarm of zombies if you are skilled enough gather them in narrow corridors or when you are about to be cornered by Shamblers & Stalkers. Since its penetration is already high, it's suggested to augment it with Deadly to increase its devastating power and/or Overclocked to increase its DpS (it's recommended to pair the latter with Capacity or Race Modded).

Pinpoint isn't so necessary for a backup weapon. Instead, you can spend skill points for Critical Shot as it grants you not only higher chance for crit shots for ALL weapons but also higher damage for them as well if you want to increase crit chance for Ronson 45.

However, this pistol has somewhat low DpS compared to a Mustang or Trailblazer. This said it is also rare for a high level'ed Mustang/Trailblazer, but if you are lucky enough for a high level of those two, it might be better to use them instead of this.

As mentioned in Triva, [BLACK] Version Ronson 45 (for mobile version) has infinite ammo, which makes it even more valuable. If augmented with Deadly, Overclocked & Race Modded, [BLACK] Version Ronson 45 will be one destructive pistol that can near-instantly put down one large swarm of common zombies with only a few shots, easily destroy one Purge Nest in seconds.

Killing boss for [BLACK] Version Ronson 45[]

The massive damage that [BLACK] Version Ronson 45 can inflict (if you are lucky to have its Deadly reach lvl 10 along with many minor buffs from Masteries, Armors or Skill) helps it maul down normal bosses without much difficulty.

It should be noted that bosses still possess a threat if you are not careful or cornered by primary zombies.[]
It's still necessary for you to utilize different tactics to deal with them (especially those with buffs & [BLACK] Version Ronson 45 is so rare) as well [check their respective pages for details].[]
  • Regurgitator & Wicker are the easiest to kill due to their lack of physical-damage resistance & speed of movement (unless having speed buff). Their HP is also the lowest so killing them takes only some seconds.
  • Zombie Mech & Loaderbot can be killed pretty quickly as their physical-damage resistance is not so much. Their HP is respectively higher than each of the two above so killing them takes slightly longer.
  • Devastator has higher HP amount than 4 above (exact twice the amount of one Zombie Mech or 10 the amount of one Regurgitator) and resists 75% of all type of damage once enraged. It's suggested to bring weapons with high DoT along with [BLACK] Version Ronson 45. Necrosis has the highest HP among the bosses (almost twice the amount of one Devastator). Killing it with [BLACK] Version Ronson 45 will take notably longer but still worths it. Dealing with its spawns is much easier thanks to their low amount HP (each is only higher than one Wicker by 200 HP. Blue spawn has similar physical-resistance like Loaderbot) and high pierce of Ronson 45.

This is quite useful if you play boss-killing challenge in Faction Warfare as most of the bosses spawn in first minute are from the first three (Loaderbot is exclusive to Power Out). This also helps you save ammo for your primary weapons for some moment before stronger bosses are spawn.

Trivia[]

  • As of the October 5th, the [BLACK] Version version had been released, along with 3 other pistols.
  • Strangely enough, the [BLACK] Version version in the mobile app has infinite ammo, making it good for picking off smaller enemies free of charge.
  • The [RED] Version version of Ronson 45, in mobile version, covers more area than its PC version.
  • The number 45 may mean that the gun uses .45 caliber ammunition, although there's no way to confirm it.
    • Interestingly, in real-life, .45 caliber (specificially, .45 ACP) is considered to be one of the most powerful pistols calibers. While there are some easily surpassing it, .45 ACP is much more reliable for standard issues.
    • Also, .45 ACP's downside is its loud noise when the gun using it is equipped with a suppressor.
