- "The Strikeforce is a thermal projectile shotgun with a wide spread for maximum devastation coverage over short ranges."
- ―Official Description
The RIA 30 Strikeforce is a shotgun introduced in SAS: Zombie Assault 4. It is a full-auto Thermal shotgun that has a fairly wide spread compared to other shotguns.
Each of the Strikeforce's eight flechettes can set objects on fire, making it effective against large crowds of weaker zombies. This weapon is best used when dragging zombies into a large group, with an occasional shot behind you, as the Strikeforce's poor 2 RPS could be troubling if Overclocked isn't augmented. Another strategy to overcoming the two rounds per second is by constantly shooting at zombies with a gun in the other primary slot, then immediately switching to the Strikeforce using hotkeys to fire one round, then switching back to the other gun to continue shooting to fill in the one second/.5 seconds (Overclocked 10) of not shooting.
Comparing the RIA 30 to the Stripper would result in the Toxic stack damage dealing far more damage than the RIA 30 with thermal damage and impact damage combined. Not an effective weapon against bosses, due to low fire rate with high damage. Bad when facing crowds of tough zombies, and still bad with weak ones with a pierce of 2. However, if literally no other weapon is available (getting this in the first few drops) it is still better than the starting weapons.
All in all, it is an averagely useful weapon suited for low level to mid-level use, although the version might be viable later on.
Design[]
RIA 30 Strikeforce's design is similar to a sawn-off Ithaca 37. Like other Thermal-damage weapons of the same manufacturer, Strikeforce has red glowing line near its shell-loading port.
Trivia[]
- The Strikeforce is the only
Thermal Rubicon weapon that has no physical counterpart.
- This weapon has received a fire rate buff and a transition to full-auto mode as of the 9/23/2015 patch, and as such, the
version now has Overclocked enabled.
- On 9/30/2015, both the RIA 50 and Strikeforce were nerfed back to the stats before 9/23/2015.
- As of 10/5/2015, the previous nerf was reverted back to 9/23/2015's patch.
