"Once dubbed 'The greatest battle implement ever devised' by General Patton, the M1 Garand is a no-nonsense semi-automatic rifle great for those long shots. Go on, you know you want to get it just to hear that iconic 'ping' don't you?"
―Premium Weapon Description

The M1 Garand is a real-life, World War II era American semi-automatic battle rifle featured in SAS: Zombie Assault 3 as a premium assault rifle. It is also the only free premium weapon available in the game. In the mobile version, it is non-premium and costs $300.

Overview[]

The semi-automatic M1 Garand is a reliable weapon with great power, penetrating ability, range, and accuracy. Early on, and even as late as rank 10, the M1 Garand can easily take out most zombies.

Though it has many great advantages, the M1 Garand suffers from a very small magazine capacity. Adding to this its lack of mobility and its somewhat slow reload speed, the M1 Garand can oftentimes put the player in a vulnerable position, especially when up against faster enemies such as Sprinters. The shortcomings of the M1 Garand also become much more apparent as rank progresses, and it is undoubtedly inferior to its in-game bigger brother, the FAL.

This gun can also be found in crates.

Trivia[]

  • Though the M1 Garand is categorized into the assault rifle group in SAS: Zombie Assault 3, in reality it is a battle rifle. While an assault rifle fires an intermediary rifle round, a battle rifle fires a more powerful, full sized rifle round.
  • This gun can do one shot kills to zombies like Swarm Zombies or Sprinters but takes about 5 shots or more to kill a butcher.
  • The rifle's ammo capacity is inaccurate, as the M1 Garand in real life held 8 shots, whereas in SAS 3, it can hold 16 shots.
