The Kraken is a Faction Warfare Light Machine Gun. It is Rancor's only Faction War weapon. It can be obtained in the Armory for 15,000 Credits and 1,000 Sigma Tokens. It was added in the Faction War update of October 2021. It is an average LMG due to its chemical damage and abysmal DPS.

Kraken shoots 10 pellets in a volley which deal somewhat weak damage over long distances unaugmented. Therefore, it is fit more as a mobbing weapon rather than a bossing weapon due to its mediocre DPS compared to other weapons. Not to mention a wide cone of fire is harder to hit a single target with.

Kraken specializes in taking down masses of hordes through it's large magazine and its pierce of 2, just like other LMGs. Paired with Hold the Line or Killing spree and its high fire rate, no zombie is capable to stand in it way.

Since Kraken shoots 10 pellets per bullet, having a couple points in concussion skill is also viable for locking down strong enemies and providing support which is crucial in early-game Nightmare mode.

Since it is a Faction warfare weapon, Kraken can be bought by a level 15 character if the Credits required is earned through other characters in that same account.

Trivia

• The Kraken is Rancor's 2nd chemical LMG alongside the Contagion.
• The Kraken is very identical to the Hard Thorn in many ways like it's RPS and its multi-streamed fire, The only difference is that the Kraken is a chemical weapon and the Hard Thorn is a physical weapon.
• Although the official description says that Kraken shoots "chemically-coated" rounds, there is no visible acid-container in the weapon's sprite unlike other Rancor weapons such as stripper or poison claw.
