The Krakatoa is Morlok's only Laser type weapon and the only Thermal Laser weapon in the game. It can be bought in the Faction Warfare Armory for 40,000 Faction Credits and 2500 Zeta favours.

The damage of this laser mainly comes from the lava pool that are created after hitting a target. These lava pools stack together causing enormous damage to anything stepping upon one. This laser also benefits from pierce blast so the damage doubles on every target it hits, thus making this laser the most overpowered gun in the game in the 1.02 patch. Hence, it's widely used as a bossing gun, though it can also be a contract gun for EXP farming because of the lava pool. But with the current 1.11, it was fixed and nerfed thus, making it mostly viable as a contract EXP gun but not much in bossing.

Trivia

The Krakatoa is named after a real-life volcano with the same name that erupted in 1883
Enlarge doesn't actually effect the lava pool much
The 1.11 patch fixed this gun by:
- Decreasing the direct damage from 900-700
- Fixed PBE (Pierce Blast Effect) abuse
- Fixed HDA (High Damage Ammo) Applied twice
It was widely used in core runs at the 1.02 patch due to the insane dps it does to bosses
