- "Not exactly the most subtle sniper rifle, the Jupiter is designed not for stealthy removal of a key target, but the high profile frying of the target and any adjacent bodyguards. True CM showboat style."
- ―Official Description

Announcement of the release of the CM 800 Jupiter and CM 330 for mobile.

Jupiter's arcing mechanics.
The CM 800 Jupiter is a semi-automatic Shock sniper rifle by Critical Mass added in the first expansion pack. This is one of the few weapons with a pierce blast effect, repeatedly damaging any nearby zombies as the bullet pierces through its target.
Overview[]
Understanding the CM 800 Jupiter is crucial to use it efficiently. The denser the group of enemies is, more damage gun does to each individual target in this group. Its bullet can (electrically) pierce up to four hit targets (can be boosted with Sniper Mastery and Augment); each time the bullet hits an enemy, one damaging electric arc is sent to each adjustment target within its blast radius. If the same bullet strikes next target in its path, it arcs again - including the target it has previously hit so long its within the blast radius. Unlike Gigavolt and Trailblazer, the arc does not chain.
Compared to arcing and area damaging guns (Gigavolt, Trailblazer, rocket launchers, flamethrowers and shotguns) the Jupiter is less efficient versus large spread out groups or individual targets. But if the groups are dense, it can dispatch those with just few bullets.
It is a good gun for sniper mastery builds, as it makes a nice substitution for the Gigavolt for taking down hordes. Make sure to pack something extra against individual bosses, as Jupiter is not very good in that area, ideally another sniper rifle, like Hornet or S300 with Damage, Rate and Adaptive maxed. In addition, semi auto means lots of clicking, but luckily is a manageable 6 shots per second.

Trivia[]
- The name Jupiter, also the name of the 5th planet of the solar system, is from Roman mythology's god of light, sky, and electricity. Jupiter is the Roman equivalent to Greek God Zeus, and both gods use lightning bolts as weapons.
- This sniper resembles the Barrett M82 sniper rifle (along with other Barret 50 Cal Sniper rifles). With slight differences between the guns as far as a picture view, the gun itself is totally different as of how it actually works. This gun may also look like the MK-12 SPR (special purpose rifle). There are hardly any differences between the CM 800 Jupiter and the MK-12 SPR, as the only difference between them is the length of the barrels of them.
- When you lay some of the numerical stats of a
Jupiter end-to-end, specifically damage, ROF, movement mod, and capacity in that order, you get the number 123456789.
- The CM 800 Jupiter received a "Christmas Edition" around Christmas (December 25) 2015. It was called the Scrooge, and replaced the Jupiter from Strongboxes and Crafting. Its description was "Ammo for this gun costs HOW MUCH?!" This is a reference to a quote from the 1843 novella A Christmas Carol.
- A May 20, 2016 update to Flash delayed arcing for all shock weapons.
- The
version of the CM 800 Jupiter is different from the
version of SAS 4 Mobile version.
- The PC version has glowing lights on the barrel while the mobile version doesn't have glowing lights.
